The Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) has announced plans to celebrate the 2026 Olympic Day on June 27, 2026, with the theme focusing on inclusivity and the social joy of movement.

In a statement issued by Tony Nezianya, Public Relations Officer of the NOC, the committee expressed pride in marking the event, which serves as a platform to champion physical activity and promote the Olympic values of Excellence, Friendship, and Respect.
Dr. Abdul Ibrahim, Chairman of the NOC Sport-For-All Commission, emphasized that the campaign aims to encourage Nigerians to engage in simple activities like jogging and walking, highlighting the benefits of exercise on physical and mental health.
The NOC has dispatched invitation letters to all States of the Federation, encouraging State Sport Councils to begin preparations for a high-impact event. The President of the NOC, Engr. Habu Ahmed Gumel, stated that the goal is to bridge generational gaps through physical activity.
The NOC invites corporate organisations and individuals to support the initiative, which promotes national unity and wellness.
