Chelsea beat Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) by 3-0 in the FIFA Club World Cup Final held at the MetLife Stadium to win their second title.
The match which took place on July 13th saw Chelsea’s Palmer score two goals in the 22nd and 30th minutes, while new signing Joana Pedro added another goal in the 43rd minute to give them a fast half win which was eventually sustained.
PSG who came into the game as European champions after mauling Real Madrid by 4-0 in the semifinal failed to live up to their hype as they bowed to the blues.
The match is the 11th time both sides will meet with Chelsea’s win being their third win which levels up with PSG’s third win too. Five draws have stood between the two sides but this victory for Chelsea remains remarkable as it makes them become champion in the first edition of the tournament which had 32 teams.
