This was a journey that began a few years ago in the oil-rich Delta State city of Warri. Graduates of FUTO met and decided to set up a union that will cater for their social and technology journey. Every society has a journey. So, this is what began among FUTO graduates in Delta state. consequently, the Alumni Association of FUTO welcomes a new chapter in Delta State.
On the 22nd of September 2019 with about 12 members. Martins presided as the Interim Chairman. They increased to a member population up to the size of 37 persons in 2020. The chapter started with 3 officers; Chairman, Secretary, and Financial Secretary.

Delta Chapter Meet & Bond
On the 4th of January 2020, the chapter had her first major bonding event. By May 2020 the chapter was already communicating to join the national body of the Alumni Association of FUTO. And with over 50 members and the zeal, the NEC was excited to fast-track an onboarding.
In the 3rd month of 2021, the Delta chapter has received a favorable response from the NEC and was ready to go. In a letter to NEC and signed by the Chairman, Efe O’Kwakpovwe, and Vice-Chairman, Dr. Martins Kedienhon, they confirm that they
“have over 40 dues-paying and physical meetings active members and over 200 online registered members (inclusive of the active members).”

The Inauguration
Following these, and recommendations from 2 chapters of Lagos and Port Harcourt, the NEC approved April 3rd for the inauguration of the Delta State Chapter of the Alumni Association of FUTO. Additionally, the event was attended by the NEC President and his Officers including the ex-Officio members. Also, the PH chapter was represented at the event.
The FUTO Alumni Association is the umbrella body of all graduates of the Federal University of Technology Owerri. The Association is FUTO Alumni is a lifetime commitment and Membership and an important part of the University Community. The Alumni association provides Fraternity with opportunities for continued involvement in FUTO
