The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has finally succumbed to pressures for the Annual General Assembly to hold and has fixed August 13, 2022, as the date.
According to a report, the NFF is putting everything in place to ensure that the congress which precedes the elective Congress is held.
Recall that the Federal government through the Ministry of Sports has asked that the election be held as at when due as the four-year tenure of the Amaju Pinnick board ends in September.
However, there were reasons given by the Federation why the election may not be held with reference to a pending court case that was yet to be vacated.
Meanwhile, things turned around and the Federation was working towards getting a venue and date for Congress before the delegates were contacted.
The Congress which was in doubt is expected to set up the Electoral Committee and possibly fix a date for the election into the NFF Board.
There are also strong speculations suggesting that other relevant stakeholders may be included as observers while efforts will be put in place to include them as delegates after the elections.
The only barrier hindering the election according to NFF was the ex-parte order at the Bayelsa High Court, but it has since been vacated and the road is now clear for elections.
