The National President of the Federal University of Owerri Alumni Association (FUTOAA), Prof. Laz. Uzoechi has named and honoured 10 members of the association who made significant contributions towards the development of the Association during his first term in office.
A delighted Prof. Uzoechi, who could not hold back the joy of the massive support he enjoyed from these members during his first term, presented a self-funded NATIONAL PRESIDENT AWARD OF APPRECIATION to them during the Annual General Meeting of the association which took place at the Immaculate Excellence Hotel in Owerri on Saturday, August 16, 2025.
“I do not know how to say this but the truth is my reign as FUTO President in the past three years would not have been successful if I did not have these members with me” Uzoechi started.
“These members are always there for me and in fact most times they think for me and discuss plans with me on how the association can be better under my reign”. “Today, I have decided to honour them for their support towards my administration, and I can say here before I make this presentation that none of them ever knew I was going to present an award to them”. Uzoechi stated before calling out the members.
The 10 members whom the amiable Professor honoured with the award are: Chief Prince Ogbonna, Engr. Chris Ademe, Chief Anselm Chukwuka, Engr. Dr. Ekom Okpo, Mr. Collins Opara, Chief Engr. Chris Anyanwu, Mr. Donald Unanma, Comrade Nnaemeka Okafor, Rtn. Stanley Madu and Engr. Obinna Muoghalu.
