Indeed Rwandan example sounds like fairy tales until you witness it first hand.
“I was at the Genocide memorial centre yesterday and what I witnessed there should form the world’s template for post-conflict reintegration. It’s almost unbelievable except that I saw it live. Here a nation took time to document their ugly history in their resolve to ensure such never repeats.” Says Chidiebere on his visit to Rwanda.

Back home in Nigeria we do everything possible to hide our past atrocities even while these atrocities keep repeating on daily basis. 800,000 died in Rwanda, how many have died in Nigeria since the civil war to date? And to think that our Vice President, Prof Osinbajo was here some weeks ago to mark the 25 years anniversary of the genocide, (Kwibuka 25), and he characteristically shed our common crocodile tears for what happened to a nation that has long found its bearing even while worse atrocities that happen under his watch go unnoticed by him. You begin to wonder,
CAN WE EVER GET IT RIGHT IN NIGERIA?. This is what the writer of his story; Chidiebere Chukwuneme is asking.
